Text Evidence Mini Lesson
I love when my students are about to answer a question about a text. I do not love when they leave out their support. This lesson will help you give your students practice with analyzing text and supporting answers with text evidence. It is a fast and engaging way to teach and introduce text evidence to your middle school students.

Text Evidence Quests
These quests are an engaging and creative way to help your students practice supporting answers with the three types of text evidence: quotes, paraphrasing, and summaries.
The Quests:
Quest 1-4: Students will analyze the lyrics to a song and answer a question using evidence from the lyrics.
Quest 5: Students will select their own school appropriate song, write a question, and then answer it using text evidence.

This four-step process will help your middle school students write quality constructed responses with textual evidence.
